Female Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Early Shifts – Blackrock, Cork

About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Female Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) for early shifts in Blackrock, Cork.

The role involves providing high-quality, person-centred care and practical support to individuals, assisting with daily living activities and promoting their dignity, independence and wellbeing.

You will work as part of a wider care team and will be expected to follow individual care plans, professional guidance and agreed procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living

• Provide personal care where required

• Support individuals with washing, dressing, toileting and other personal care needs where required

• Support individuals with mobility and safe movement in line with their care plan and training

• Assist with meals and hydration where required

• Provide practical and emotional support

• Encourage independence and promote individual choice

• Support individuals with daily routines and appropriate activities

• Observe and report changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour

• Follow individual care plans and risk assessments

• Maintain accurate care records and documentation

• Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and other relevant procedures

• Report incidents, concerns or changes in an individual's condition

• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

• Work effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals

• Complete mandatory and role-specific training as required

Essential Experience & Skills

You must have:

• Minimum 6 months' relevant healthcare or care experience

• Full QQI Level 5 or FETAC equivalent qualification

• 2 clinical references

• Behaviour Support Training

• Restrictive Practice Training – CPI, MAPA, Safety Intervention, PMVA, TCI or Studio 3

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or in a similar healthcare/care environment
