Female Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Sleeper Shifts – Blackrock, Cork

About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Female Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) for sleeper shifts in Blackrock, Cork.

This role involves providing person-centred care and support throughout the individual's evening and overnight routine. Sleeper shifts involve an overnight stay, with the Healthcare Assistant following the agreed care plan and providing support if required during the shift.

You will help maintain the individual's comfort, dignity, safety and wellbeing while providing professional and respectful care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support throughout the evening and overnight routine

• Follow individual care plans and agreed procedures

• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living where required

• Support evening and bedtime routines

• Assist with toileting and other personal care needs where required

• Support mobility and safe movement in line with training and the care plan

• Provide reassurance and emotional support where appropriate

• Monitor the individual's wellbeing and respond appropriately to support needs

• Follow agreed behaviour support strategies

• Respond appropriately if care or support is required during the sleeper shift

• Observe and report any changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour

• Maintain accurate records where required

• Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and other relevant procedures

• Report incidents, concerns or changes in an individual's condition

• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

• Work effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals

• Complete mandatory and role-specific training as required

Essential Experience & Skills

You must have:

• Minimum 6 months' relevant healthcare or care experience

• Full QQI Level 5 or FETAC equivalent qualification

• 2 clinical references

• Behaviour Support Training

• Restrictive Practice Training – CPI, MAPA, Safety Intervention, PMVA, TCI or Studio 3

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or in a similar care environment
